Great Expectations - 101 Reykjavk

Wow! I really loved the movie 101 Reykjavk. The movie is absolutely stunning with top-notch graphics and visuals while Victoria Abril deliver some award-winning performances in this movie.

I also think Edda Heidrn Backman was great! The visuals and graphics make for some very realistic on screen special-effects but that is the beauty of the movie.When the movie wants to be funny it is funny, the same is true for when the movie needs to deliver its scary aspects.

I think Victoria Abril and Edda Heidrn Backman worked wonderful in 101 Reykjavk. The great supporting cast includes Victoria Abril, Edda Heidrn Backman, Halldra Bjrnsdttir, Ptur Einarsson, Eyvindur Erlendsson.

You should see it, make no mistake this is a definite blockbuster!

Summary of 101 Reykjavk:

Sexy Spaniard Victoria Abril heats up the wintry city of Reykjavk in 101 Reykjavk. Icelandic slacker Hlynur (Hilmir Snr Gunason) lives on welfare with his mother, leading a depressed and aimless existence. His mother invites her flamenco teacher, Lola (Abril), to live with them; while his mother is away for New Year's Eve, Hlynur and Lola have a drunken fling. But upon her return, Hlynur's mother tells him that she and Lola are lesbian lovers--and it soon comes out that she and Lola are going to have a baby together. 101 Reykjavk seems to be the contemporary Icelandic version of American movies of the 1970s like Five Easy Pieces, in which antiheroic characters struggle to make sense of a world that doesn't seem to have any place for them. The movie is a bit unfocused, but its urban malaise feels genuine, if not particularly new. Abril is delightful, as always. --Bret Fetzer
