One of the four major weapons in Chinese martial arts the Jian is a double edged straight sword commonly constructed with a small guard and pommel. Known as the Gentleman of Weapons the Jian (Ken Sword) has been constructed from high carbon steel with visible steel grain. The blade is extremely sharp and decorated with an engraved dragon and kanji near the tsuba (guard). The tsuba is stylized with asian themes and coated with an antique finish to match the solid one piece pommel. Brown nylon cord surrounds the handle and decorates the burgundy saya (scabbard) with has been accented with a large kurikata (scabbard knob) also decorated with a metal antiqued finish. Measuring 33 1/2 inches closed and 31 1/2 inches overall open and equipped with a 22 inch blade length. Included is a large wooden dragon stand and sword cleaning kit, all packaged in a decorative gift box.
